a Nintendo DS gadget – M3dsReal

m3 real ndsThe Christmas just gone I bought a little gadget called M3DSreal for my son to use with his Nintendo DS..

What a neat little thing this is. I had to wait for the English version to be released, there are other items that do a similar thing but not quite the same or as good, R4DS is one of them.

What it is? It is a little cartridge exactly the same dimensions as a DS game cartridge but this has some smarts inside and a tiny flash card slot for microSD memory. I bought a 2 gigabyte Kingston microSD but you can use the newer SDHC ones which go to 6GB at the moment.

With this cartridge I put all of my sons DS games on it PLUS four movies PLUS a CD of music – now he has all of this on one cartridge rather than having to carry around multiple game cartridges that could be lost easily. It can even have PDA functionality, if you want, to store phone numbers, have a caculator etc. as well as and ebook reader and more.

Leave a comment if you want more details and I will answer or if needed I’ll write a better post. It really is a great product and cheap to buy.

Here is some more information on how to use the M3 Ds Real. And thanks to catflap at GBAtemp for making a replacement for the awful system fonts – http://rapidshare.com/files/116960118/menu.eng (only for 3.7b)

M3 DS Real system has been updated , read about it in my post here – M3 DS Real system updated

That sounds really nifty. Having just bought 3 DS for my kids for Chritmas, I havent had a chance to look into all the cool bits you can get. Would you mind emailing me where you got it 🙂 ?

Thank you for taking time to read this and for commenting, I appreciate it.
I bought our M3real for a crowd called DealExtreme.com , took about 10 days for it to arrive and it was free postage to Australia. There are Australian companies that have it but they are about double the price! A 2 gig memory card is another $25 or so.

  3. January 11, 2008 at 8:32 pm

Thanks for that. I have been browsing deal extreme for about a week checking all the great stuff out trying to decide what to buy first. Hadn’t seen those there so will have to take a look.

    Thanks for the info 🙂

  4. January 11, 2008 at 9:11 pm

I have bought a few things from dealextreme.com and have had no problems. I have noticed that they are out of stock for the m3dsReal at the moment.

Hey.i have m3dsreal and if you dont no how the games work when u get games (with US on the back so the game is english) just go to romsite.net and type in what ever ds game u want on the right of your screen and maybey there will be a list of the same games and some are gba and some are DS make sher u get the ones with the us at the end and when there done downloading go to the page you downloaded it on and right click on the game and extract all and then there will be a folder and you go into the folder and then bring up my computer and then click on m3ds and there will be three files, system, nds, gba click on nds and then go back to your game folder and drag the game to your nds folder…..and if this does not work for you i might post a video on youtube of how to do it…..it is realy simple for moor info email me kurtdoerfel@yahoo.com GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DS SUPLIES P.s. i am a 10 year old hack i know everything becouse my dad works with Mac. if you dont no what mac is it is a way better pc then windows…..bye!

  6. February 3, 2008 at 4:08 pm

Thank you Kurt but unfortunately I can hardly understand your writing – maybe English is not your home language, hey? I was going to fix all the spelling errors but there were too many 🙂
((QUOTE – P.s. i am a 10 year old hack i know everything becouse my dad works with Mac. if you dont no what mac is it is a way better pc then windows…..bye!))
Not quite, Kurt, you don’t know how to spell 🙂

There are plenty of ROM sites around but that isn’t the reason I bought the M3DSreal. Have you hacked the M3 to change the font to a better one, or so the games sort themselves automatically in alphabetic order. Do you use Rominator to sort the games out on the PC – it’s fantastic and free!

Thanks again for the comment and please come back.

well….sorry for spelling tons of words wrong. i spell pretty fast and i do not go over my mistakes. it’s not like i am doing a spelling contest. and my language that i really speak is latin. i started speaking English when i was six. so its not my fault. and i am not a true hack that puts errors on peoples pc’s i just know stuff.

There is only one thing i don’t know, when i go to PDA the screen says (please copy pda to movable disk) but i don’t know what pda is or how it works, please tell me what to do or how to work it

  10. February 8, 2008 at 9:55 pm

The PDA isn’t installed on the M3real , you need to download it and put it on.
    Try here – http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html

That looks really cool. There have been other efforts like this, but none that I know of that utilise TransFlash or micro SD cards. 6GB and larger are expensive though…

    Hi Goldcoaster…
Can you help me please ? my son as a ds lite he’s only 9yo and suffers from slight down syndrome he loves his DS but he is for ever losing the games i buy him 😦 in the past 12months i would have spent over a thousand dollars on games alone… A freind of mine told me about this M3dsreal which i thought was a great idea for my som and my back pocket 🙂 i got the M3dsreal perfect bundele version but have no idea how to use it.
Now i am not a tech/computer head or a gammer in any form what so ever so when i look on the net and start reading about the M3 i get lost in all the computer/gammer linggo 🙂
Do you know any site on the net that explains how to use them in good on english ???
what i need to know is how do i get the games on my computer and how do i set up the M3 and use it ?? i know its a big ask but any help/info would be a great help.

    Thanks
    Storm

  13. February 13, 2008 at 9:08 am

    Storminoz, thanks for commenting.
The M3Real is very easy to use – just pretty much drag and drop to the Micro SD card.
For great information try this web site – http://gbatemp.net/
All downloads of files are here – http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html remember to use the updated firmware (system) files.
And some simple instructions here – http://down.gbalpha.com/Softwares/G6M3DS-R/M3DS_Real_USER_MANUAL_oct15.doc

Hope it helps and ask again if you need (I can’t say where to download games though)

I think the easiest way would be just to download the game rom (they end in .nds format) – you already own the games so I really don’t so any thing wrong with downloading them.

    February 21, 2008 at 8:45 am

You can can the “hey I’m not being illegal, I’m just backing up”.
Even if you own Nintendo DS games, it’s illegal to download the ROMs.
Of course, I don’t care, stolen games are awesome, but adding “but I own the games” doesn’t save you.

  17. February 21, 2008 at 6:10 pm

Thanks for the comment Michael – I said “I think the easiest way would be just to download the game rom (they end in .nds format) – you already own the games so I really don’t so any thing wrong with downloading them” and I still don’t think there is anything wrong with it – whether it is to the law or not I think it is a fair way to use games you have bought – especially to use the cheat function, I never said it was legal its just fair way to use it.

hey, can this thing play GBA, GameBoy, NES, or SNES games? i seem to remember seeing a product that can do that, but i’m not quite sure.

  19. February 23, 2008 at 9:40 am

I know it can play GBA games, not sure about the older ones but I do remember reading about an emulator for these games so my answer – probably.

  22. February 29, 2008 at 11:16 am

Kurt, there are a few convertors around – try this one its free http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html , it works pretty good – you need to make a dpg or dsm movie – Super makes dpg movies.
To play on the DS just put the movies directly onto the mem card not in a separate folder.

when you download the pda what folder do you put it in?

  24. March 12, 2008 at 9:06 am

Kurt did you try SuperC as i mentioned above? Sometimes it ends with an error after encoding but the movie plays anyway.

PDA, I am not sure just put on the top directory.

  29. March 24, 2008 at 8:52 am

Trade it in at EB games and buy a new new one. Can you glue the L button on so they don’t know, first?
To be honest the L button hardly gets used in games anyway. You can also buy whole new cases from DealExtreme.com (where I bought me M3DS Real)for about $7 for the DS and about$18 for the DS Lite but . I have heard it is fairly hard to pull apart

Contra 4 is a fun old style platform shoot’em up like the arcades back in the ’90s, nothing fancy. Metroid Prime is great.
Hmm, I’ll get back to you about these games, have to think about it.

  30. March 25, 2008 at 12:28 pm

    try these games :

    – Geometry Wars
    – nanostray 2

Morrrrrning. Just hoping you could give me a quick hand. I have an M3DS Simply, and it is wonderful. Anyway, aside from that, with the M3DS Real coming down in price, I was considering an upgrade. HOWEVER, All of the sites I have encountered make no mention of WIFI, Single card, Dual card and Wii Wireless compatability. The M3DS Simply works with all these functions perfectly well, including Opera browser, but does the M3DS Real also have compatability, in particular, to other DS’ and wireless, over-the-net gaming???

    Thanking you in advance.

    Liv.

  38. April 5, 2008 at 4:11 pm

Thanks for commenting Oliver. My personal opinion is if the M3simply is fine for you now, why upgrade – what would the advantage be for you, except I guess memory card size?

What is single/dual card – do you mean a GBA slot? I have used wireless with mario cart fine haven’t tried any other.
This site I suspect uses a flash cart, he may know http://wiinds.wordpress.com/ you could also ask at gbatemp.

  39. 39 Olivier
    April 6, 2008 at 10:10 am

Well, it’s not really< having issues getting the MicroSD card to stay in, having trouble in data download, yeah, it had a wonderful run, but it is indeed gettign a bit old, especially because I got it second hand.

Thankyou for the info/sites. I will go and check them out.

By single/dual card I was referring to playing wirelessly with only one DS game or with both players having the cart/M3.

I cannot see any reason why they would take away the ability of wireless play, seeing as it was rampant on the M3, especially now you have quelled my fears, ie, Mario Kart working.

    SO! Thankyou very muchly!

  40. April 6, 2008 at 2:52 pm

Oh I see, I have played games with the single cart option – meaning the other Ds downloads off the others cart, using the M3real – it works fine. Mario part (i think that is what its called, plays fine as a download game as well.
I have no problem recommending it, its cheap and everything works

Hello again all. I need some help… Upon the arrival of the M3DS Real, I opened the manual and all, downloaded the system software, Version 2.41 English. I have a bunch of games, but i cannot get any to work?

I have uploaded them to a folder called NDS that is just sitting in the root folder. IE – The window that opens as soon as you open the removable disk…

When I put the micro Sd into the M3DS Real, I am presented with only five menu options, MyCard, Boot, Media, PDA, Setting. I am missing the Games and the GBA Function???

Looking past this, if I enter the MyCard Option, I can access the system folder, and the NDS Folder, which has the games in it, with thier correct picture icons and sizes… But I cannot open them?

Could someone please help me, it is frustrating me beyond comprehension! I have no idea what to do…

    Olivier.

  44. April 23, 2008 at 3:25 pm

I am sure 2.41 is not the M3DSreal system. I think you may have the M3simple (they usually just call it M3DS) I think the last system I used was 2.9 a long long time ago and checking, the latest is actually 3.4. Here it is. delete all off the card first. http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html

The NDS folder is where the games go, so thats correct.

has anyone here aver tried the AceKard 2? because, i can get it and an EZ 3-in-1 ram+rumble expansion from DealExtreme for $8 more than an m3ds real with just a rumble pack

P.S. [Quote: Kurt]i am a 10 year old hack i know everything becouse my dad works with Mac. if you dont no what mac is it is a way better pc then windows…..bye![/quote] – y’know, telling everyone that you’re ten years old might not be the best idea… and have you ever tried linux? think mac, except free and open-source, including the GUI. have fun now!

  46. April 26, 2008 at 3:32 pm

I don’t use the rumble card that came with the M3DSreal at all. Not many games use that function. The Ram one maybe if I had the Browser but I doubt it.
The Acecard2 looks like it would be a good choice.
    Pros
    + Fantastic looking skins
+ Many non-skin aspects of the interface are customizable
+ Allows file operations from within GUI
    + MicroSDHC compatible
    + 100% ROM compatibility
    + 100% Download Play compatibility
    + Soft Reset works 100%
    + Auto-DLDI patching
    + PassMe functionality
    + Cheat system works
+ Very fast and responsive menus
    + 8 languages supported

    Cons
    – Have to compile cheat file for each game
    – Sturdiness is so-so

ok so, i dont have an m3 ds real yet but it has been ordered.

now the one i have ordered doesnt come with the disc so i’ve downloaded it, its version 3.4 i think. when i get the m3 ds real i just put it into the microsd right? and with the games ive downloaded it from ???
so when i come to put it in to the microsd i have to unzip it dont i?

    all answers are greatly appreciated.
    thanks =)

  50. April 28, 2008 at 5:12 pm

ROMs will have the NDS format eg. abcgame.nds and should be stored in a folder on the memory card called NDS, so may need to be unzippd

Just drag the latest system files to the mem card first, then make your NDS folder, put the gamesin that folder.

BTW, no M3Dsreal’s come with a disk.

Hey everyone, I just bought my M3 DS Real 3 weeks ago, and I’m still confused on where to insert movie files and how to make the movie files play.

I tried to put the movie file into my 1GB Micro SD card, but the video did not show up anywhere. I also tried putting the movie file directly into the NDS folder. The video was still no where to be found =/

I tried to download the GBalpha NDSMovie Converter from the site http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html as suggested in this forum, but when I ran the program, I got this popup error that says “Component ‘comdlg32.ocx’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: A file is missing or invalid.”

Any suggestions on what to do?

    Thanks!

  52. May 2, 2008 at 8:03 am

The movies have to be either dpg or dsm format. If you read above there is a link to superC it will make dpg. I have never got the NDSconvertor to work to make dsm movies.

Put the movies straight on the mem card not in any folder. same goes for mp3 music.

Wow, you replied very quickly. Thank you ^_^.

I found the link in this forum to Super C and opened it, but I have no clue where to download it. Can I please have a direct link? Thank you!

  54. May 2, 2008 at 8:16 am

SuperC is hard to find, there was a direct link above though http://www.erightsoft.biz/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe

For me, it always ends in an error after making the movie but the movie played OK anyway. (other wise search for dpg movie to download, dsm is hard)

Ugh, it’s true that the movies that I converted into dpg using Super C do work on my DS now, but the movies freeze frequently at parts of the videos where it has fast-moving graphics and then it unfreezes. The only way to prevent them from freezing is by converting them into atrociously low qualities. Is there any way to improve the qualities of the videos?

  57. May 4, 2008 at 4:38 pm

Movies on my M3Dsreal don’t pixelate or freeze, they are actually pretty good. I am guessing it is the settings.

just passing through the blog (after i found it on a google search) and just thought i would make a little mention of my site here (if thats ok?)
idgamez.co.uk is a site dedicated to console gaming, and we feature the nintendo ds and its various cartridges like the m3 very heavily. we also have an ever growing list of nds back-up games (which i understand are not illegal to download if you own the original game cartridge), so if your looking for a place to hang out, and get the latest games for your m3 cart, then pop into our site and check us out.
its all free and its a very friendly site.
i hope you dont mind me putting this detail in here, but its always good to let people know where they can get the games fromfor free.
    see you all around

    Hi,

I’m new to all this NDSL and accessories stuff. Am looking to get something that will let me put my current legal games (all four of them!) on the one card (for convenience), plus that will let me run a few homebrew apps as well, most notably some kind of browser for basic internet browsing.

DX have the “M3 Real with USB TF Card Reader and Rumble Pack” (sku.2728) for around $30. I don’t need the rumble pack, but I can’t find a M3 real there without one. I think I also need a SD/SDHC card, was thinking the “Kingston MicroSD TransFlash 2GB Memory Card (JAPAN)” (sku.2396) though I’m flexible on that – just had it in mind because it apparently is pretty good quality.

Actually I’m flexible on the M3DSReal also … just would prefer not to get the Acekard RPG as it’s priced through the roof … but if there’s a better card out now for a similar price, then I’d be open to that.

Basically, treat me like an idiot and don’t assume that I know anything! What do I need to put backups of my games on the one card and run a rudimentary web browser on my NDSL please?

    Thanks!

  62. June 20, 2008 at 10:47 am

KTB (ozfree) , I really think that at this time you wont do better than the M3DSreal- it much better than the Acecard. Read through the comments and you will get lots of info.
I got my M3DSreal and Kingston mem card from Dealextreme – the same as you are looking at – had no problems with either.
I don’t use the rumble pack – hardly any games use it any way.

I haven’t used the Browser program as it also needs a memory pack plugged into the GBA slot at the front of the DS.

Once you buy the cart you need to put some system files on the mem card (all flash carts are like this) you then put the NDS games on the mem card under a NDS folder, plug the mem card into the M3DSreal and you are done, very simple really.
Any game I have tried works fine.

Thanks so much for your help! Decided that with the cost of the wifi dongle and the memory pack, and the reviews about the limitations of the browser, that I’d follow your example and just get the M3DSreal and the Kingston memory, which from your comments and others on this blog, really does seem the way to go.

Thank you so much for your help and advice … now just have to wait for DX to ship my stuff 🙂

    KTB.

    Hi again,

Following your recommendation, I bought the M3DS Real and 2GB Kingston flash from DX. Completely irrelevant, but it’s insane how small memory cards are getting! Anyway, back on topic, I did something completely out of character for me, and read your useful links and tips BEFORE doing anything. And it worked! I’ve got the latest OS with the better fonts, am using Rominator to keep things organised, downloaded the roms of some games I own legitimately, and everything worked first time — THANK YOU!

B-u-t … there MUST be something I’ve missed, because I do still have one small question. I downloaded DSOrganize as my PDA … but I’m guessing it’s not the PDA that the operating system was expecting, because the OS can’t find it. And it’s not just a *.nds file that can easily be moved to the root — it’s got all kinds of subfolders and things.

So, one of two questions please! Either how can I get the M3DSReal OS to find DS Organize and link it up with the PDA button in the menu …. OR …. where do I download the PDA that the M3DS Real OS actually *is* expecting?

    Thanks!

  69. July 4, 2008 at 9:12 pm

I am glad to help. It is amazing how small the microSD is – I remember buying a normal SD card back in 2001 128MB cost me $320!! and I had to wait for it to come into Australia.

To be honest I have never tried the PDA part. This is a link to the PDA you need for the M3DSreal http://down.gbalpha.com/GBalpha/Softwares/G6&M3DS-R-PDADS_V1.0.zip it is not DSorganise (but I think you can run DS organise as a homebrew app) I dont know what the PDA is like.

    Hi again,

Thanks, found that link AFTER already having posted … doh! Still not sure where to put the files, so will play with different directories and see what works 😀

    Cheers!

  71. July 5, 2008 at 9:18 am

I would try no directory at all just like movies and music.
Don’t get your hopes up , I have heard that the PDA isn’t very good.

to hannah who asked about the wii, theres no m3adaptor for the wii but u can get the wii modified for like $200 here in australia and download the games online but it’ll take longer as they are 4gb each and need to be transfered onto dvds.

  74. September 17, 2008 at 10:20 pm

    jofel, thanks for the comment.
You need to install the m3dsreal system files on the little memory card to be able to use it.
get it here http://down.gbalpha.com/GBalpha/Softwares/G6&M3DS-R_E30.zip , unzip the files and put them onto the memory card.

    is it iligal

  76. September 24, 2008 at 8:37 am

No, Chris. It is not illegal in my country.
Think of it this way, I can play music and movies on my iPod and it is not illegal, that is what I can do on th DS. There are people that make free games that play on the DS (called homebrew) that is all OK just like I can play homemade games on my pc as well, not illegal.
Copying games just like copying movies is, but I think if you already own the games (or movie) what harm is there – all you are doing is having all you games you own on one card so it is easy to carry around. You have paid for the game anyway.

Hello! You seem to be very knowledgeable bout the M3 DS Real, I would like to ask a question. I have ordered this M3 DS Real, Rumble Pack and a Sandisk 2GB. It will come Tues/Wed/Thursday and I do not uinderstand how to get the games on. I have downloaded them all already from frozen-roms.net and extracted them all etc so when I get it I can drag them straight in the folder. The question is; mainly, how do you get your chip with the computer? I dont know if this has already been answered, I’m about to go out so I’m rushing and cant look through, but my friend has a M3 Real and we tried putting her Kingston 2GB in the USB port because we read thats how you do it. We were disappionted when we couldnt get her some new games on there. I read you need an adapter; how does that work? And which.. was it… formatting? do you need? And any extra things I need to download? Your help would be much appreciated! I don’t want to have spent $100 on an empty chip! I am a bit illerate with these things. Thankyou in advance!!!

  84. 84 Laura
    October 11, 2008 at 1:31 pm

Oooh I’ve been reading a bit more, and someone said ‘You need a Sandisk or Kingston memory card. YOu also need a microSD card’ aren’t they the exact same thing?! Oh I’m on a tight budget I cant go around buying MORE for this thing than $100! I now need a nicroSD thing and an adapter aswell! I might even need that USB thing also!! Uhh
P.S. I’m only interested in putting games on my NDS for the extra formatting things.
    Thanks again!

  85. October 11, 2008 at 3:14 pm

Laura, I have a kingston MicroSD card, 2gB in size. Kingston and Sandisk are just brands not types of cards. They are really small and mine came with an adaptor so you can plug it into a memory card slot on your computer. The M3Dsreal also come with a USB adaptor – you plug the microSD into the adaptor and then into the USB on your computer. The microSD doesn’t go straight into a USB port.

The games go in a NDS folder on the memory card. You need to download the M3dsReal system files and put them on the memory card as well.

    October 13, 2008 at 7:01 pm

Ooooh thankyou! The whole package came in the post today. I had no trouble getting all the games on there and my friend bought one already with games and all the stuff you need from eBay so I copied all her extra files onto mine and then put all my games on. I click a game then start then it loads… then either
a] White Screen w/ the Soundtracks
    b] Black Screen
c] Normal but lots of things fuzzy or moved around or just the image mixed up
I cant play any games! I have been crying for a while now… im such a baby but I’ve been looking forward to this so much! I searched my question in google and I have formatted my USB thing that I used to put it in. And I also blew in all the slots incase it was just dusty. I’m REALLY upset ;[ I cannot find a solution to this! Its broken on the first day!!!!!! ;[

Update: Mmk, I have been trying for a while and I downloaded the newest versin v3.9d or something similar and now when i click it it just says ‘Directory does not exist!’ when I have NDS in the SYSTEM folder and its all good ;[

  88. October 13, 2008 at 9:02 pm

Laura, I don’t have a DS in front of me but the NDS folder should just go straight on the card not in the System folder.

Don’t try to play any games yet. Does the M3DSreal start up OK? Make sure that works first. Then add a NDS folder on the card, then put games in the NDS folder.
The games files should be something like abcgame.nds

After reading your site I purchased a M3DSReal (with rumble) and a 4GB micro SD card.
We cant see how to get the games we own through the computer onto the memory card, we would prefer not to have to download them, I guess I thought it would come with an adaptor to fir the game cartridge into the computer.
You have a ling on this page to another site for instructions on how to use the M3DSreal but I couldnt find instructions there and it came with no instructions that we can follow.
    Hope you can help

    Hello goldcoaster.

I also wonder. Does anyone know how to make Your own Homebrew games from the originals.
I have a few games that are made in my language, and I can’t find them on the net. My youngest son doesn’t read english, so it would have been nice to know how to brew them yourselves.

You can find 1000 of games, but not how to make them on the net. Strange!

    Sammy

  98. December 5, 2008 at 4:24 pm

    Thanks for commenting Sammy.
Homebrew is actually games and software that has been programmed from scratch not a copy of a real DS game. Say you programmed your own version of space invaders or your own mp3 player – that is homebrew.

As for copying your own real DS games, I am not sure . Maybe search for something like ‘making DS roms from original game’ or ‘how to backup DS games’

hope this helps you and let me know how to do it when you know please.

  105. April 9, 2009 at 7:33 am

Debbie, Unfortunately you should just keep the older DS. The main reason Nintendo has made the DSi is to stop these types of cards. The have also added region coding to stop people buying real games from others countries that may be cheaper.

A friend has just done the same – he bought a DSlite and m3 ds real at christmas and has just traded the ds lite for a dsi – now he is stuck as the m3 ds real cart doesn’t work and I don’t know of any that do.

the dsi doesn’t offer anything better than the dslite – the games are the same.

hey goldcoaster, i haven’t talked to you in a while. Did you get the m2 sakura update for m3ds real? its pretty cool. I found a ds aim like… 1 year ago and I found some sweet homebrew apps. But my m3ds real card is starting to ware out. i have to push it in very hard to make the ds read it but after i push it in hard i dont have to hold it in any more.
I have become an extreme expert with the card and all the programs for it. and they made a new gbalpha nds movie converter and it works great. all you have to do is get handbrake set the converting style to classic and then make the width 720 and the height 480 and when its done converting you convert it to ds with gbalpha and walla. but some videos you have on your computer might already be 720 width and 480 height but if its not you just have to do what i said above. thanks

help. i have a sandisk 2gb sd card for the m3. when i use the t-flash card reader it doesn’t show up in my computer but it does show in the safely remove hardware thing. please tell me what to do to fix it!

  110. May 20, 2009 at 2:43 pm

asiangirl, more than likely your card reader has failed. mine did not last very long – maybe a few weeks.
Try putting the MicroSD into the SDadaptor it came with , then you can put that in a card reader slot. or if you need a microsd USB reader try going to dealextreme.com and buy a new one , they are about $1 or $2.
hope this helps you with your m3 DS Real problem.

  111. May 21, 2009 at 7:17 am

  113. June 10, 2009 at 10:53 am

Axel. You need to turn the DS off there is no way to get back to the menu. Remember you had to turn the Nintendo DS off to switch games normally so you still need to for the games roms on the M3DSreal.

Hi, I bought recently a M3 DS real for my kids. This one has the slot for the SD card on it’s side. I’m having problems to run it on an old DS (from 2004) and on an european DS lite (from 2006) which belongs to a friend. It’s not even recognized by the console. I don’t have this problems with a DS Lite which was bought in Singapore. My friend has an Me DS real card for a couple of years and I tried it on both of my DS consoles and it works fine. Here are the combinations I tried and didn’t work:
    – use “old” SD card with new adapter -> works only on Asian DS lite
    – use “new” SD card, using G6&M3DS-R_E53 with new adapter-> works only on Asian DS lite
I’m not sure what to try next.
    Thanks for your help.

Okay the problem is the different ds’s u r using depending on where u got ur M3ds real from is key cause i got mine from Canada and it works on European, North American, & Some Asian Ds’s but like I said Depending on the type of M3ds u may have some might not b compatible on oldschool DS’S (the fat ones) but try putting it in a oldschool ds again but make sure that ds is clean and has a North American ID Number or u will have 2 use the Genesis Hack on ur DS hope this helps.
