iTunes 7.1 and Vista…again

Tried installing iTunes 7.1 last night…

I had screen write problems with the old version of iTunes but I don’t know about the new 7.1. When I tried to install it last night it just hung with the hard-drive buzzing away for ten minutes until I switched the PC off.

I will try again tonight.

Thanks Apple 😦

    thanks for the comment.

I tried installing itunes again and this time it worked.
It still has the screen write problems but not as bad.
Apple know there are problems because they have a survey on their quicktime page for Vista users to state their problems.

The new itunes has not been built for vista… It’s just one of Job’s cunning plans to shift people to mac.

    Cunning as a .. whatever.

Actually the new release seems to be working OK. It still has some screen write problems but not all the time.
Quicktime does have problems and Apple know it – every time you use the QT options it pops up a dialog asking if the options pane worked or not (it doesn’t for me)

Most apple software is dodgy on windows, apple also force you to install itunes when you want to install quicktime (being a mac user I have no problem) But when I used to use windows this annoyed me to hell. I think their idea of advertising is a bit too competitive. They can’t even show their mac ads on English TV because they shun windows so much.

You are right – Apple need to improve their Windows programming. Maybe they do it on purpose to show off their own gear!

The weird thing is all Microsoft apps run extremely well on a mac. Their really nice to look at and run very smoothly (doesn’t freeze up like they do on windows). The only problem I have with Microsoft apps and mac is that they don’t have a publisher. Apple seems confident it’s apple pages 2 will be good enough, sure it is but it can’t read .pub files.
