iPhones are not available in my country and I am not sure if I would really want one - the touch screen for texting and dialling isn’t for me.

Anyway, for people that have or want one and want to use another service provider it seems that it has been fully unlocked by some clever little person (warning - very techy, not for the faint-hearted ). At the moment the unlocker is hardware based but software unlocks are coming soon. Keep an eye on his progress.
